How do we decide what to do each year?
We survey our homes every 5 years to see if we need to carry out improvements in the future. Our surveyor assesses the condition of each room and also checks the external areas of your home – including the roof, windows, kitchen, bathroom and boiler - so the information we hold is up to date.
We also update other information we hold about your property including:
- Information you pass to us
- Information passed to us from the Repairs team
- Information passed to us from your Neighbourhood Coordinator
The Stock Investment team use this information to decide which homes are most in need of improvements. If your home has yet to have a survey, or it has been a long time since one was carried out, please don’t worry. We complete about 2000 surveys a year and the Stock Investment team will be in touch to arrange yours when we are in your area. If your home has been identified on our programme for improvements this year, we will send you a letter.
In the meantime, if there are any repairs needed to your home, please report these to us as soon as you can.
In rent arrears?
Our policy says we can’t carry out kitchen and bathroom replacements if you are in rent arrears. If your account is overdue our we can help you to get back on track.
We're here to help!
Our Income Team can talk you through your options and help set up a payment plan that works for you – taking your circumstances into account. If you’ve set up a payment plan with us, you’ll need to have kept up payments for 6 months before we can start the improvements.
The best way to start clearing your account is to work with us to find a solution.
